This was the first time I got to watch an Argentine movie, so I had no well-defined expectations about La Corazonada. It generally turned out to be a well-acted and gripping thriller, even though its visual appearance was not significantly different from a myriad of comparable American and European productions, with some of the main visual elements being reminiscent of Hollywood films like Seven or the Swedish Millennium trilogy. The movie's main problem lies in the fact that there were quite a few passages in it, including at its conclusion, when the amount of confusion was so high that it came dangerously close to a point where it could have easily led itself into the trap of absurdity.
As for the performances, the leading duo was virtually flawless and the only blatantly unconvincing performance was by the actress who played the sobbing mother at the funeral. I really liked the actress who played Minerva. She appeared to be perfectly suited for the role, delivering a solid performance that contributed to her character making a chilling impression on me whenever she was on the screen. However, the scene in which she was shown murdering her best friend struggled to avoid being excessively theatrical, with the part where she opens the dead victim's eyes actually making me laugh with its bizarre and yet somewhat predictable nature. Another sequence that made a similar impression on me was the one in which she stabbed the guy who broke into the house in which she used to live with her best friend.
